Problem with white people like this is they have benefited from slavery and decided that we have done the same. Fact is Africa would have been a completely different Contingent if Slavery and Colonialism didn't happen. Ethiopia is a prime example actually. I agree with this. The ones that want to hear "both sides" and using that "objectivity" card as an excuse to promote racism beliefs that don't benefit black people and only benefit in the proliferation and enforcement of white supremacy.

This rhetoric is simply redic. If you have no slavery, you have no colonialism, if you have no colonialism, you have no stunting of intellectual growth in Africa, if you don't have that, you have the continuing expansion of thought and talent.

The fact that people forget that Africa is the birthplace of civilization, the written word, mathematics, medicine and agriculture is appalling. There is NO WAY to even properly have the discussion about Africa and its ills without the context of European Colonialism. And the ONLY reason African-Americans benefit from Western Civilization is a matter of proxy NOT by some sort of benevolent, idealist, America.

So while you can take part in all the good things about the Western world understand that the continent of Africa had to suffer GREATLY for it.

How are you so sure that colonialism stunted Africa's growth? I can see the advancements colonialism brought to certain areas of the world, but I don't know how those areas look without it. But you seem to... I think you may be right that some countries have to get exploited for other countries to advance, though.

Whether Africa, or any particular African country would better better or worse today, is a scenario that one can only speculate about.

I disagree with you. He doesnt need "hands" he doesnt need his face stomped. None of that....i hate when people suggest that someone thoughts and behavior can be changed by physical intervention. If thats the case, native americans and enslaved african americans and their offspring who were subjected to physical,sexual and emotional brutality might have at some point "recognized"/ fell in line and perhaps became the lap dogs they want us to be.

Theres never going to be a valid talking point, thats going to make him go "I realize now I was wrong about that", theres never going to be an ass whooping, or model black citizen thats going to have him 'coppin pleas', flipping the script or learning the 'error' of his ways.

The main thing is Roland didn't get flustered. That's really key. Break down their logic, demonstrate how pathetic they are and how much they've failed their ancestors, keep your fukking cool. Yup.

The problem here is assuming the colonization in other countries is similar to that in many African countries. You take Zimbabwe (refuse to refer to it by its former name) and South Africa where not only were minority whites colonized the areas, they enforced apartheid on the people and disenfranchised them in their own lands to poverty and ghettos. This didn't happen in Singapore for example and Hong Kong.
