when they were touring as the Big Tymers, he and Baby were supposed to split the money 50/50. Baby handled the business side of course.....so if they got paid $60,000 a show from the promoter, that should be 30K a piece.....but Baby would tell Mannie they were only getting paid like $40,000. And he would give Mannie $20,000, and keep the rest for himself....but Baby would still report the actual $60,000 earned on their taxes.
So when it ballooned up over time, the govt said Mannie owed them mass amounts of money(that he never really made) and he almost got locked up for "tax fraud"
He said this in a video interview a few years back.
