I understand his frustration but those communities need money. Cities need to invest in educational/after school programs, parks, etc. I grew up in a rough neighborhood and I had to ride my bike a couple miles away just to go to the nearest park which was a piece of shyt. Racism is the root cause imo, but if we are smart enough to recognize the issues at some point we have to stop letting the symptoms persist.

And there’s a huge opportunity here to do the work, get the props, and prosper.

This forum, myself included, is hyper critical of everything and everyone. What if instead of bytching (non-masculine energy) about the lack of male leadership in BLM we started our own thing (masculine energy)? Or joined any of the black male focused or lead groups that are already out there?

But you all ready know the answer. The anti-BLM threads aren’t meant to build or motivate. The emasculation of the Black male is real and it’s apparently largely self-inflicted.

I think the first conversation we need to have as a community is about the meaning of masculinity and manhood. Start there and work towards accountability and self determination and then community. Because as a man, when you see a problem, the first thing you should ask yourself is ‘what can I do?’

You not getting rid of rap or the 'culture'. You not storming the hood killing the killers, you ain't finna lead them out the hood like the pied piper either. Even if we get reparations it may take a couple generations and the loss of those who are too far gone to even start seeing the real positives in the more dangerous areas. You not getting rid of the criminal element either, it HAS to be made a resource. We need crime organizers moreso than community organizers for this particular issue.

Not only should we not turn our backs, there needs to be serious investment into what should be the black warrior class. It does, to me at least all come back to economics, even blaming it on the 'culture' needs to add context around why/how it got that way and the monetary incentives that keep it afloat. There has to be a way to use some of those same incentives (it ain't always money) toward a different purpose. I always loved how a lot of the FOI cats I knew of were just street soldiers that got formal training and purpose. I think trying to snuff out hustlers and soldiers will ultimately be a bad look.

It ain't like if we turned Chicago into the new black wallstreet within the next year or so cacs would just let it thrive and leave it be....where your soldiers at? And if it ain't enough drug dealers in your hood already, government will supply them and send them anyway to get their shyt off.

I just feel like we've put a lot of energy into other methods and a lot of weight on the shoulders of civilians to try and move and shake in war zones...you need street cats and black military to run point and communicate with soldiers. You can't just leave them out of the equation and hope they kill each other off without hitting innocents in the process.

I agree that street cats have their purpose. I agree that they need leadership and purpose. That was what Cointelpro did, took away the leadership and the purpose and left angry disenfranchised cats to fend for themselves with no guidance or resources (except drugs and guns of course). I was not saying we should snuff them out but we can't just let them run roughshot over the community and remove all responsbility and accountability. Soilders recieve consquences when they step out of line. Those of us that know better gotta provide that leadership. And part of leadership is correcting. Another part is not encouraging things that hinder the cause.
