People underestimate how excess materialism and clout fuels crime and dysfunction, almost as basic economics in itself.

First of all dude is clearly upset. Getting shot and almost dying yourself is one thing. But having your child get shot, eventhough she survived is a level of trauma that I wish on no one. I can't imagine how he felt when he heard that shyt and I would never want to know what it felt like.

Two things can be true. Black folks have been and continue to be opppressed, marginalized, and treated like less than humans. This contributes to the ills in the community. That doesn't mean we can't/shouldnt' check ourselves. Feeding into white supremacy and doing exactly what they want us to do doesn't help either. You know what else is a result of white supremacy/systematic oppression? c00nery. Sell outs. These people don't just wake up and say "Hey let me just sell my people out for no reason". No they do it because that's what they have been taught and/or they see that as the best option for themselves and their families. People don't have any problem telling them to check themselves though. People are able to seperate personal responsiblity from injustice when it comes to them. One of the biggest problems we have is that we dont' recognize the black folks out here harming each other or pushing a lifestyle that invlolves doing that as the c00ns/sellouts that they are. When white folks or c00ns say "Bu...bu...but what about black on black crime" in response to another state sanctioned lynching we know what that is. That is deflection. It is an attempt to shirk responsbility and rationalize evil shyt. However, when a black person that by all accounts genuinely cares about his community says we gotta check our shyt, in response to some shyt that happened in our community, that is what they are supposed to do and we should listen.

Every single community or ethnic group has trash ass individuals in it that do nothing but hinder, destroy and kill. That includes our community. The difference is that we are hesitate to call it what it is, eradicate, excommunicate and eliminate over a fear of how it will look, selling out, snitching, whatever. That was programmed into us by white supremacy. Alot of shyt was programmed into us. Just like it was programmed and needs to be deprogrammed. You cant say fukk 12, we dont need police, and then refuse to police your own community. Not everyone is righteous, not everyone has good intentions. I used to be more of a idealist. All black men are brothers and shyt. Thats true for most. Its the small percentage that is too comfortable wreaking havoc and destruction. I agree fukk 12, we dont need them in our hoods, but lets not act like we can just let them same destructive nikkas go by the honor system and think they aint about to the work of the devil.

I do not suggest we let them "go by the honor system." I'm saying we rid ourselves of the conditions that create more of them, while rehabilitating and working with those who are in danger of becoming like them.

It's not idealism, this is necessary.

I saw the news the other day where this kid 16 years old shot someone and the reporter went to the kid house and the mom Who look mid 30s said on air.. I have no help and can’t control my son... the reporter was like why not?? bytch just closed her door, knowing she’s a fukking failure

my neighbor 2 kids are like 5 and 6 and she has her mother watch her kids while she hit the clubs at 35 years old

Self hatred and ignorance cannot be solved by economics alone. You can make a good salary and still be on that c00n shyt, bragging about black pain as a badge of honor.

People ignoring the power of peer pressure and social clout and why that drives a lot of young black people to do wrong, even if they aint broke.

No one ever questions the realness of a dude doing dirt. As a matter of fact, realness is often used a synonym for doing dirt. But you will get questions if you speak correct English or smile too much or wear certain clothing or really if you do anything outside of the box that black folks have been forced into. I have seen way too many young brothers that are doing well in school and/or on the field/court end up locked up or dead because they wanted to be accepted and in their mind getting good grades or being a standout on the field was not enough. Too many people allow street culture to define blackness. Just look at how people react to snitches. If you aren't in the streets why do you care? How is that worse that killing, poisoning, or taking from your own people? Beyond that, a lot of snitches are dudes that are in the streets that have no business there but they were lured in becuase it is not only tolerated, not only made to seem cool, but it is far to often held up as the standard. Something about staring at football numbers that helps folks to realize that they have options are aren't actually about that life. That said, we shouldnt' turn our backs on our brothers that are truly in the struggle. We shouldn't look down on them or attack them. However, we also shouldn't glorify them or hold them up as an example of anything other than what we should all be striving and encouraging each other not to be. 50 is a sociopathic troll but he was right on when he said something along the lines of "You shouldn't want to be gangsta. Gangta is something that happens to you." Now he may have just been trying to say something to come off as deep while promoting his album but that is real shyt.
