Riding in a helicopter.... question for military peeps...

Never flown in one, I do want to, only sat a few stationary ones at the air shows. Whenever you see them on tv/movies the soldiers or law enforcement are sometimes seated on the side with their feet hanging out the opening. Are they strapped in by a security seatbelt? I assume something has to keep them from falling out as the helicopter turns....

strapped in by a harness, like a seat belt. the ones that ride on the little birds use a seat belt, the ones that ride in blackhawks use full seat belt harness like the ones in race cards
