Film director Ridley Scott is reportedly producing another Biblical film after this winter's Exodus: Gods and Kings. This one would focus on the Old Testament's King David.
Variety reports that Jonathan Stokes (El Gringo) has been tapped to write the script for the untitled movie. Though David is likely best known for the story of slaying the giant Goliath, the plot is said to more likely focus on his later reign as king of Israel. It's been given the working title David.
Scott would produce under his Scott Free production company, in a partnership with Chernin Entertainment.
The report is unclear on whether Scott would direct. He has several possible projects lined up, including a sequel to Prometheus and The Martian, starring Matt Damon.
Hollywood has shown interest in adaptations of Biblical stories, including the recent release of Noah, which made $359 million worldwide.
