I saw Raphael on his Bandwith Tour last night. Amazing one man-show, he chronologically went thru his life and career in story and song, he even threw in performances from his contemporaries and his influences. It was dope.
He talked about getting fired by his Prince, his solo work, working with Kendrick, drama with the Tony’s which lead to Lucy Pearl and how crazy Dawn Robinson was. A lot of amazing stories.
He put all the phones in pouches so there wasn’t any recording
Definitely a top 5 show I’ve ever been to.
He closed the show out sharing that the Tonys last show was at the same venue (Chicago Theatre) and performed Whatever U Want as a tribute to Dwayne. I didn’t know they were half brothers (different moms)
