Peter Greene was lying 'face down' when police arrived and found him dead, with a handwritten note from the actor also discovered.
Police told the outlet that his body was found unresponsive inside his residence at 'around 3:25 p.m'. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A neighbour has now said that Peter's body was discovered face down on the floor.
They told the New York Daily News: 'Peter was lying on the floor, facedown, facial injury, blood everywhere…'
It reportedly said 'I'm still a Westie,' which appears to be a reference to the Irish-American gang who had operated out of Hell's Kitchen from 1970.
