I would make fun of someone who can't imagine another modality than being driven by stress but that is the vast majority of people in America and the west in general

Gets slightly annoying when Christ/Capatialist fanboys push that nonsense on others when as institutions they have never delivered the goods for society.

Don't take it out on me because you don't have any work ethic and expect life to hand you everything you want.

Keep hopin for that UBI though :lolbron:

Typical.

Do you have any ideas of your own that you weren't socially trained to have?

Yea, work is necessary. A reality without work isn't realistic and/or detrimental to mankind.

A world where all of our needs are met automatically would just create an environment where humans seek new types of needs. There will always be something to work for.

getting rid of jobs won't eliminate stress. there's no way to eliminate stress. even boredom can lead to stress. life can never be perfect no matter how far advanced our technology is.

stress is healthy, it keeps us humble. the rain helps us to appreciate the sun.

i don't expect life to hand me everything. that's not how nature works. animals need to hunt, they need to gather food. it doesn't just fall from the sky. you have to work for the things you want/need.
stress does not help you at all. it does not keep anyone humble. stress causes all sorts of physical and mental issues.

i didnt say we no longer have to learn or do anything. if you sit around and dont do anything all day long. you will get beyond bored and depressed.

you shouldn't.

work keeps man humble, even jesus worked.

people that were handed everything they have are usually miserable inside. paris hilton was a prime example. billionaire princess / drug addict.

Jesus worked as a carpenter

That's debatable - Jesus working as a carpenter is only mentioned once in the whole Bible, and it's random disparaging people in the crowd, not his associates, who say it. During his ministry he quite clearly wasn't working. Rather, he lived off of the generosity of the people and the grace of God.

Really meaningful religious ministry is one of the sectors that will benefit from an UBI.

Ahhh, he WAS, indeed, working. The Pharisees started plotting to kill him for working on the Sabbath by healing a cripple: Mark 3:1-6.

He healed people everywhere he went: The blind man (John 9:1-6), Jairus' daughter (Mark 5:21-44 and Luke 8:40-56), the man with leprosy (Matthew 8:1-4), etc.
