He also brought up the whole Big Pun bottle thing also in the orignal version.........

Joe talks about that in an interview with MTV news the DAY BEFORE the diss came out where they asked him about hearing their was a line about Big Pun on there.....

Most likely Colombia told him to take out the line.........they have been known to be very sensative......remember that verse by Nas on Hip Hop is dead that was censored even on the explicit version?

anyone got a link to Fat Joe talking about this?

So many will come here pretending that they knew this all along. Yeah fukking right, I don't buy it. This piece of info has got a lot of posters going :ohhh:

Hands down, the most common interpretation was that Nas was speaking about a "Rockefeller," that's what the vast majority of people assumed and left it at that. Few knew of this Brooklyn hustler, or had the resources to fukking find out about him. You can't even google, wikipedia this dude or nothing. Tons of listeners didn't know this and many still won't ever know this.

All it does is add more to my suspicions that Jaz-O wuz feedin Nas lines and helped write ether that I had for years, look at the facts recently we've seen rumors Nas is under suspicion of gettin more than a little help from Jay electrnica......don't know if that wuz bullshyt but this ether song:ohhh:.....from lines about JAY gettin chased thru a building in 88 when Nas wuz a freshman in highschool in queens, and this line about a brooklyn hustler Nas wouldn't know about:childplease:....I see u Nas:ufdup:...I remember them wack bars about ridin on freeways eatin Beans on the stillmatic freestyle, and every diss record he's put out after that has been on sum weird shyt like that about houses in virginia:wtb: or sum straight deep emcee shyt.....yet on Ether this nikka Nas suddenly sound like a battle rapper and is a comedian:childplease:.....I wanna have a sit down conversation wit Jaz about sum things:mjpls:

Nas - Ether (The Original Version) Leaked (Deep Lyrical shyt!) | Rap Genius

That was a short interview with Joe but I don't think its fake or anything....I'm sure there is an official page somewhere in the allhiphop or mtv news archi
ves just gotta dig deep but that link had the transcript.........

Along with the original deeper version of Ether

@StillNotSoft you really sound like a clown right now. Even before myself it was stated numerous times(plus I'm the one who helped create that thread on rapgenius) that ether had those lines because Colombia records made him dumb it down.......

Gtfo with that ghostwriting bullshyt now

Your reasoning sounds so dumb....how would Nas know about what happened in 88 when he was 14 or 15?

Cuz people talk :childplease:

:childplease: the dude was around dudes like Kool G Rap in 91 and in the game about 10 years around the time ether came out..and ur asking foolish "how" questions.............

How does someone who came in 11th grade kno about the slore years ago in 8th grade? :mjpls:

Yeah bruh it's more plausible the Oil Robber Barron Rockerfeller from the 1800s was the one that died from aids the company was named after :wtf:

No, it's more probable that Nas completely fukked up in one of two ways.

Either

A) He confused Rockerfeller for Rock Hudson who did die of AIDS

or

B) The fact that there was a street dude named Rockafella does not mean the label was named after him. Just like there are two Havocs, two Prodigees or two Biggie Smalls etc.

Matter fact, Nas very next line is "put it together, I rock hoes yall rock fellas" implying that the dude they named the label after was gay and died of AIDS. Think about how homophobic hiphop was in the 90's and then it becomes ridiculous that anyone would think of namin they label after all that.:scusthov:

That boy Nas was reachin heavy.

It was a hot line, but then he followed with a corny line only 5 year olds or brain dead individuals would find funny.
"put it together I rock hoes, you rock fellas". He's actually saying this to 30 years+ dudes who are fukking Beyonce, Aaliyah, Mya, Rosario Dawson etc when he's with Carmen and Bossy.

The following line just made the whole quote sound like a childish/corny/bad joke.

If that's the case I'll fall the fukk back and take my L :to:

Even though it's still a corny line there was more dudes at one Roc-a-fella show than a Nas tour, pause that shyt as well. :youngsabo:
