Goodell Wants To Meet With Strong
Texas Longhorns insider Chip Brown is reporting that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the head of the NFL player's union, DeMaurice Smith, are "supposed to meet with Charlie Strong within the next week to talk about Strong's commitment to his five core values."
It's easy to see why the NFL brass would want to meet with Strong.
The NFL has been plagued by recent off-field issues surrounding domestic violence, the most notable being the Baltimore Ravens star Ray Rice who slugged his then-fiance in an Atlantic City hotel elevator. The NFL initially suspended Rice for just two games before new video was released showing a full account of the event. Goodell then suspended Rice for the season.
There are even calls for Goodell himself to step down as the league's commissioner.
Meanwhile, Strong has dismissed Texas players over violation of team policies and suspended three others since taking the reins from Mack Brown. Even at the risk in disruption of his program, Strong has taken a stand for doing what is right over doing what helps a team win a game.
Strong has said repeatedly that he runs his program based on five core values.
The values are honesty, treat women with respect, no drugs, no stealing and no guns.
If true. Finally some positive light in regards to Strong's core values.#blackexcellence #letsride

that's reasonable. well no, the rule should be no guns on campus, not simply no guns. the midst of a crime is bullshyt because committing a crime where you have the option to have a gun should get your ass kicked off the team in the first place so why specify.
