Huge fight breaks out in gym with dumbbells used as weapons | Metro News
When heading to the gym for a workout, the last thing anyone expects to see are men using the weights as weapons instead of training equipment. Shocking footage uploaded to social media shows the moment a gym-goer grabs the steel pull down attachment from a machine and starts beating another gym-goer. A man, dressed in a grey tracksuit, is seen twice hitting his ‘victim’, wearing a blue tracksuit, as others around them duck for cover. As the room clears, weight-lifters are seen running in all directions as the beating causes the man to fall to the floor. The fight broke out at Ab Salute Gym, in Brentwood, Essex, on November 6, but it is not known what caused it. Ab Salute Gym said it was an ‘isolated incident’ and does not condone any violence in their establishments, adding the men involved have been banned for life.
Elle, from Birmingham, uploaded the disturbing video to Twitter on Wednesday and wrote: ‘so man are fighting in the gym now wow’. She then uploaded another clip, writing: ‘Gets worse’, showing another man attacking a different person. The fight becomes more brutal when the man, dressed in a white t-shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms with a stripe down them, uses a dumbbell to repeatedly whack his target. A man, dressed in grey, can be seen on the floor covering his head with his arms and curling up in the fetal position. His attacker stands above him repeatedly hitting him on the head with the steel dumbbell, before kicking him in the ribs. What appears to be a friend goes over and beckons them to leave, before the pair walk away leaving the man on the floor. The posts were met with thousands of comments from shocked social media users but most laughed off the brutal beating calling it ‘roid rage’.
