Often, to explain a position or discuss an issue...it requires a long, detailed, sometimes complicated answer.
But that doesn't fit with people's short attention spans and the media's insistence on soundbites and short clips.

I think Noam Chomsky once said something that tv studios didn't want to book him because "he lacks concision". Which is to say, his ideas and arguments aren't short and "digestible"

He acknowledged they had a point. But it's also a problem with the media and a reason why so much of the country is ignorant.
