This interview is really a example of how corny wrestling is nowadays and why nobody in the mainstream really fukks with it like they used to.
If this was like Floyd or McGregor, they'd be on there talking mad shyt about the opponent and everything trying to sell the fight. That's probably why they are the two biggest PPV draws and wrestling ain't even on PPV anymore.
Man I know kayfabe is dead but sell the damn fight, on RAW you talmbout how it's your yard now and you want to retire Undertaker, but you go out to the media and these wrestlin dudes just be on here talking about it's a dream match, I have so much respect for this guy, etc.
If I'm a casual or not really a fan at all, and I'm listening to this I'm like "oh ok, ya'll cool with each other and just looking forward to having an exciting choreographed fight" Why would I go out of my way to watch that shyt then?
I really feel like the next big wrestling superstar, if there ever is another one, will be the guy that reintroduces a lot of that kayfabe shyt, and carries his persona outside of the ring to sell fights and sell his character like the boxers/UFC fighters do now.
As a casual, I've said this many times, the new era of stars are just swagless cornballs who grew up hardcore marks, so lames.
Floyd and McGregor have more charisma in their pinky than the entire active roster of full time wrasslers
It's pathetic
