Roman definitely shouldn't be the new Taker, but I do think they should make him the ultimate tweener, mercenary for himself guy. Since he's so polarizing, he should play both sides for himself at all times. Doesn't necessarily have to have heel motivations or face motivations.
Makes the save like a face when he feels like it. Bodies faces when he feels like it. Bodies heels when he feels like it. Anyone that has a problem with it has to deal with it. Everybody can get it. Just have him constantly getting into brawls with multiple people.
Have him come out and interrupt matches, spearing both guys when he wants something and hitting them with a "My bad."
His whole purpose would be that he's anti-Universe.
