When it's that bad though, usually the promoter wants the champion to have a few tuneup fights before coming back for the belt.

I think the last time I seen a champion get an immediate rematch is when the fight was a long battle or a lucky punch.

That wasn't this fight

TJ Dillashaw vs Barao or Velasquez vs Werdum, both were dominated and both are getting rematches. If you're the champion UFC gives you a rematch simple as that.

Well that's not what they do in boxing.

If you get washed your team does the smart thing and let's you work through your mistakes before you get washed again and fukk up your career...

That's if you're a decent boxer at least that's what they do for you. We all see that UFC doesn't give a fukk about their fighters.

Also, rematches are guranteed in contracts but not necessarily in order. Especially if someone suffered an injury.

Holly right, she doesn't want to wait up to 6 months for Rondas jaw and ego to heal for a title defense. Holly looked like she could've fought again the next week

But I don't think it will be the same fight either... I think it will be worse. Ronda doesn't seem to be the type pacing, thinking fighter. Literally every fight I've seen she rushes in.

Holly is a technical boxer and now a technical MMA fighter. Idk, I think if Ronda decides to strike she will get washed. If she rushes in she will get washed. Only thing she can do is try to use strikes to cut the distance and go for takedowns BUT that's not what judo nikkas do.

In boxing that's due also in part because of the promoters between each of the fighters. There are no promoters in the UFC. Of course either fighter can refuse the fight but who knows how UFC would handle that fighter afterward.

But realistically, if Ronda needs 6 months of recovery and Tate is the #1 contender, then Tate deserves the shot.

What they want Holm to do, sit on her hands for 6 months? That money needs to flow, she wants and deserves to keep active, etc.

Especially if she's trying to build her own brand, career, and legacy as a champ.

Idk... If Ronda wants a rematch she needs to take a couple months and get back into training camp. If she's gonna need 6 moths to eat an apple and then do a training camp that's like close to an 8 month wait for Holly Holm. fukk that
