but there are other artists u can blame for this as well. flo-rida, rick ross for being fake, or lil wayne himself with that rebirth bullshyt. hell lollipop was a sell out song but it actually worked, starships just was too lady gaga/britney spears for my taste, so i see where hes comin from, but at the same time why would anyone expect nicki minaj not to go for the most fans she can get?
Wayne was smart enough to leave the rebirth shyt to a side project (after flooding the streets for 3-4 years anyway), Flo-Rida was smart enough to pretty much leave urban radio in the dust altogether, so those projects don't really count there would be no reason for Rosenberg to take offense to those records because he probably had no interaction with them.
Rosenberg is singling Nicki out for trying to blatantly play both sides of the fence between pop and urban with one album and expecting it all to get played everywhere off name recognition. Best believe that Starships record got shopped to urban radio because it had her name on it, and they thought she'd get a pass because she's a female singing...but no Hip Hop artist would be able to get away with what she tried and she deserves to get called on it on a Hip Hop station.
I haven't listened and won't but from what I gathered the album wasn't skillfully playing both sides of the fence/melding genres, it was either this or that...can't do that
For example Kanye with 808s was smart enough to do Heartless and Amazing to get Urban spins he'd deserve
