Vibe is nice on rod track. I disagree with the splash cymbal choice.

Idk if you laying live drums or using kits but the percussion is cool however it needs to be a bit heavier or fuller, if that makes sense.

Loud as well. It’s as if you have a boom mic at the drum set.

DBR I swear I heard this beat before lol I like what you doing but at same time it’s almost too much going on.

DBR gets the vote.

After a couple listens, I gotta go with DBR. The drums can be a lot and the beat could benefit by letting the melody get some more shine. But it's a dope beat.

Rod beat is nice. Initially I thought it was just a loop but then more effects came in to add layers which made it hard to choose.

Ultimately, I just vibed with DBR more

Talk about totaly different takes on this Freestyle matchup

@bigrodthe1
The cover is nice! I felt if you arranged it differently in terms of sound choice it would sound even better The drum choice didn't seem like it fit. The melodies although they sounded great the melody sounds used didn't seem authentic as far as giving the track a natural feel it felt strictly midi stock sounding. With a different selection of sounds this works even better in my oppinion.

@DBR
This is a great trap beat. This guy has some of the best hi-hat work in the tunnel. The track definitely vibes and the mix is on point theres nothing to knock here. For that reason my vote goes to @DBR

Great showcase/battle

bigrod might be really musical but the drums ruin it. The pads are supergood but overall it's not mixed well.

DBR good trap beat. I like that piano in there. Nice different Hi-Hats going together.

Vote @DBR

DBR took this one. He be killing that dark gothic trap sound. Mix is clean, good transitions, drums are crazy dope on this, beat sounds hard, but not on some over the top shyt. Nothing to really complain about. Beat is sick

Rod's beat had potential. I feel like he had too many elements working against the sample so it didn't mesh well. Plus the mix could have been cleaner. Clean it up and you got a fire beat, but as it stands now DBR beat is more complete.

yeah @DBR got me this round. Hell I already knew what time it was going to be. This nikka is literally one of my favorite producers PERIOD. My crew has been fukking with his beats for years. And this not no dikk riding shyt :martin: I looked forward to the challenge but I KNEW I couldn't beat him at his "sound" and trust I do that sound as well....you'll see if I make it to the trap round  but I tried to come with something to counter his attack :demonic: but he came with a straight banger that had my crew over here writing and freestyling :mjcry:
I better get a couple of votes though because I'm a artist and I'm sensitive about my shyt :francis:
I put in work on that bytch and gave it that big rod bang :dame:
at least the btiches like it:mjcry:
I might got to TLR and try to get a couple of votes
It ain't over :pacspit:

Also I'm going to interject...NO WAY nikkas saying my drums don't bang :birdman:
nikka y'all better listen from 2:40 on...I brought that bytch together and brought a second bassline to close that bytch out.
@DBR and @clanarchy cory and a couple other that I can see that even program drums on a better level.
YEAH I'm being sensitive right now...I want to WIN this shyt

damn i just looked at the score. Its 7 up skunk

If we were in south Florida playing basketball, DBR would have won and the nikkas that had downs would have walked on the court by now.

I went with Rod because I'm just more impressed with the different elements in the beat.. Also dudes in here are tripping talking about the drums aint hitting ... the drumwork on this track was fukking crazy, had that dope live feel to it, the only thing i'd say are the hats & cymbals are too loud in the mix. The synths and piano work on this was crazy impressive too.

DBR beat was better mixed and had the more hip hop vibe to it .. little bit too much going on with the hats imo but thats the only really bad thing i can say about the beat.

For me its down to the more complex and unique track so its Rod for me.

I thinks its more about the drums not meshing well with the overall beat/sample than the drums not hitting at all.

Rod is not known for weak drums. Its just that this time around they aint flow right.

Am I the only that liked the drums?

Maybe it was because they were live kit or just how they sat in the mix that threw some off?

I liked the hihat patterns and the vote for going left field with the live drums.

I don't know why but I instantly thought of praise and worship at church:ohlawd:

I used to get live on the ball court too. I have come back from down and dropped 10 and won 15-11
I don't know if I can duplicate that here against @DBR though:mjcry:
but if I do lose it's going to be hell for my opponent in the loser's bracket :pacspit:

thanks for listening at the vote breh...hell I'm actually mixing in a LOT of sounds. I really tried to give it a different vibe than Stevie's but it's hard fukking with a legends shyt :mjcry:
