Absolutely breh.Pork can cause worms?
My favourite meal in the world is Jamaican stew peas made with pigs tail. This dish is also similar to Brazilian Fejoada. Maybe that’s why pigs feet don’t freak me out so much.I love soul food, but pigs feet always seemed like a bridge too far. I just can't do it.
Pork rearing habits have changed a lot since back in the day and pork no longer gives you worms as it used to. Pork is unclean because of the farming habits of humans. Wild pigs eat roots, nuts mushrooms etc; the meat is rich and gamey like beef and nothing like domesticated pork.Absolutely breh.
It is especially important to be mindful of temps when cooking pork. I don’t really eat pork like that either way.
However, I will say it isn’t something that typically happens when the meat is cooked correctly. You’ll be fine.
It’s not just pork but pork is notorious. Cook all your meats.
You can deep fry anything. I would give it a try, with some Asian salt and pepper seasoning, it would slap.

Jamon Iberico is raised in those conditionsPork rearing habits have changed a lot since back in the day and pork no longer gives you worms as it used to. I think Caribbean blood sausage is black pudding..........at least in St.Kitts it is called black pudding for the sausages......unless UK black pudding is different...I’ve never had sous you know, it’s not something they have in Jamaica I don’t think, no one in my family made it but I would try it. I’ve also never had Caribbean blood sausage, we also don’t do it in Jamaica as far as I know, unless you had butchers in you family or something. I like black pudding so I would imagine the one from the Caribbean would slap!!! Have you tried it?
Jamon Ibérico is so delicious!!! I think that’s a special kind of pig too.
Yep, the pigs they use for truffle hunting too have a similar diet.
Yes pigs do eat anything you give it but in their natural environment they are forest foragers. They cover themselves in mud like hippos and elephants to keep cool but if we keep them in pens they will cover themselves in their own shyt.
Growing up in Jamaica I’ve seen pigs and goats roam the streets. Goats will also eat anything you give em, I’ve seen them chew in tin cans.
My grandad also reared pigs and they were eating organic food, they were eating banana skins from our farm, any fruit that we couldn’t sell or give away, yam, potato, carrot peels and stuff like that. I think they may have gotten pig feed too but I can’t remember. Again same with chickens they eat what is given to them. That’s why the yolks are all different colours. I’ve gone on a tangent but you get the point.
UK black pudding is probably more or less the same, I think it has oats in it as the grain element. I imagine the Caribbean one has scotch bonnet in it.I think Caribbean blood sausage is black pudding..........at least in St.Kitts it is called black pudding for the sausages......unless UK black pudding is different...
