Royce legit bothers me with his statement.

This is like a new L for him.

A video and song like Ain't no half stepping can not be compared to Jay Z.

People can Stan Jay Z all they want.

YOU CAN NOT TOUCH A TRACK LIKE AIN'T NO HALF STEPPING!

You can only admire it.

You can only be in awe of it.

That's it.

You touch it, you'll break your hand.

So Royce needs to appologize or chill back.

He's better than this and there is no time to compare Kane to anyone.

He will apologize if this gains traction...which it won't because it's Royce Da 5'9,. Everybody shouldn't have a platform, been screaming this for idk how long. Just rap dog, you're a great rapper, shut up tho.

Would be dope if Kane shoot a quick 32 clip at him,

I agree that Royce should only rap and not talk - so much.

Yes, silencing anyone is wrong.

The thing is Royce expresses himself 10/10 in rap and also interviews about addiction.

Yes.

But when he talks reckless it scares me.
Because he goes up with rap and down with his reckless talk.

I don't like it.

And I think Young Zee had issues with Royce - if someone can elaborate on that.

And Young Zee has heart. So if Zee takes issue with Royce that's not a good look.

They all need to be sharp. That's all.

I will say this is a dumb take. It’s kinda like saying Kobe better than MJ because they played at same time but Mike was on Wiz. But what is worse is they are virtually the same age and Jay couldn’t hold Kane nuts 30 years ago. Furthermore Kane and Juice Crew changed lyricism when LL was a dominant lyricist. It’s like everyone trying to flow like Benny and Con now. Jay rode backs of few MCs before he settled into his pocket. Yeah overall and longevity but Kane had a good 5 year jump on Jay and they same damn age.

You decide, you already know my opinion

Can't really compare a freestyle to an actual song

If anyone will make an argument for Hov vs Kane it's gonna be the longevity and ability to switch styles and be great in different eras

Not comparing a freestyle to a song

It's comparing that Prince of Darkness, Daddy's Home and Taste of Chocolate albums to

Vol 3 , Blueprint, The Dynasty

That type of comparison .. The volume of hits, the number of great songs

The Song Cry, Regrets, Can I live, so many great songs over decades in every era

I have Jay as nicer than Kane but let's remember Kane was 19 when he wrote Raw

Jay didn't write a song that the rap world cared about until he was 26.

In the era that they grew up in you were supposed to already be dead nice in high school. Who knows how crazy Kane would have been if he wasn't setting the bar for mceeing at such a young age.

That was disrespectful by Royce. And while yes, Jay is better than Kane, the fact of the matter is he SHOULD be at this point. Jays career is unusual - he was actually trying to get a record deal in Kanes heyday, could not get signed, and hit the streets (I have always said, the best thing to happen to Jay was that he was told no in the late 80's, early 90's). There is video on the net of Jay rapping at the intermission of a Kane concert. Now I would hope Royce understands this - '88/'89 Jay-Z ain't better than '88/'89 Kane! The advantage Jay had was he saw the Kanes, Rakims, G-Raps, and then the next era of the early 90's (Redman, Grand Puba, etc) and then came out in the mid 90's. Now, he has seen a gang of great MC's, and he knows he has to take it to another level. So comparing them is really unfair.

If you are an elite MC, by rule you SHOULD be better than the elite MC's of a previous era. Rap is often compared to sports. I think the dunking is a good example. The fact is Zach Levine and Aaron Gordon are doing significantly better dunks than Jordan, Dominique, and even Vince Carter did. But they should. They've studied those dudes and added new shyt. But you wouldn't say, oh MJ couldn't outdunk a picture of Zach Levine. That just sounds stupid.

damn lord. incredible analogy, outstanding post :salute:
