First on CNN: Marco Rubio prepares for contested convention - CNNPolitics.com

If Trump gets the majority of the primary votes but somehow loses the convention (if it does become brokered) we finally get to see that Republican Civil War we've been talking about for years.

Damn instead of embracing Trump they would rather splinter their party even more. Now is a great time to come up with a political party in general. Seems like the US is ready to embrace a multiparty system.

Fun fact: If a Presidential candidate fails to get to 270 votes via the Electoral College, then the President is then chosen by the House of Representatives.

I think this is the Repub poison pill, sabotage the electoral college and take it to the House
What do you mean? There's no way a Republican can keep the Democrats from getting 270 votes. They're just destroying their own party, not the political process.

To elaborate on what you all are saying, if Bernie Sanders beats Hillary, you're looking at the beginning of the end of the GOP. Trump made them lay all of their cards out, and the GOP looks to fully stand for bigotry, xenophobia, and outright fascism. Both Trump and Bernie are independently made, as they don't take cash, and that is also their main draw.

Bernie will get nearly every Republican who likes Trump because he's anti-establishment (or they simply won't vote), while the GOP will fumble to find a new message as White rage will have jumped the shark. They won't be able to, imo, as they were built off racism. They're not fiscally conservative, nor do they really believe in small govt.

Like Obama, however, if Hillary wins, she'd likely have Republicans in her cabinet too, as they eat from the same donor trough, and she wants to look like she can work with them. She would likely bring in Republican sycophants, and not Uncles like Obama did, because he wants to be considered the child genius and shyt to the adults like the little fakkit he is. So they'll be alive, and Hillary would likely do better horse trading with her concessions...but the GOP really has to keep Trump from being the nominee, which is almost impossible at this point.

They would rather force Trump to run as an independent and force the House to decide then let him sweep it outright. Trump is not even a conservative and he won't answer to the elites. They can't control him.

Your post is spot on though

There is no way the rethugs go this route, Trump would run as an independent and completely fukk them and for what? Marco 90% absent Rubio? He has no shot in hell of winning the presidency anyway...Rubio is a clown with no moderate appeal and Trump has the lunatic base behind him...So who exactly will be voting for Rubio?

They have to ride it out with Trump...
