To be fair, back then the "laced" weed wasn't "promoted"
like that compared to now with exotic weeds, pills, lean .all those drugs
became some sort of branding
attached to so many young rappers.

Not all Zulu were not part of that bi or molestation situation but yes your right that drugs and homsexuality always been behind the scenes but wasn't promoted.

Riggie Wright makes sense including the snoop situation and master p. Couple things Reggie wright can be wrong like the situation with clad and mob James, or he was wrong on the pop smoke situation in how he got killed, and I lean towards Napoleon with how Stretch got killed and few other things but Reggie is cool. Wish him and Gene deal were cool as I like both dudes. Although I under why Reggie is upset Gene saying snitch to Reggie. I'd be mad too regarding him and his pop and weed charges . Hey Reggie believe Jim Jones a snitch. I don't think that's fair untill there's proof so hey. But shout out to Reggie and Gene though.cant wait for Gene book to drop.also DmX deserve a movie
Gene just can’t accept ... biggie was killed by the red team .... he keeps rehashing this story about amir Muhammad which has been Disproved ages ago he needs to let it go .....Gene was all cool talking to Reggie n goes behind his back n starts name calling childish shyt

This. And honestly Master P seems to lie and/or put a whole lot of extras. It makes it more entertaining. Dont mean i dont respect him or
No Limits success but just keeping it a buck. But he not the only one of course.

And honestly the casuals only care about X
This .... master p lies a lot .... he’s one of them types that got to much of a ego issue ..... them stories on how he made suge backdown is just funny ...... found it funny they make it seem no limit was making deathrow loook weak even after 96 wen suge fell off yet his biggest artist was getting slapped by a nikka half his size n ran ......Reggie a real one for exposing all these lies ... master p n his bro n them are stand up gs in there own right but you don’t have to lie to make yaself lookk bigger then what you are ....

I think also because No Limit’s fall was brutal and surrounded by Murder, Jail, Turmoil etc

Ruff Ryders story was more about the music
No Limit was about the fukkery
This same with deathrow exact same story for both deathrow n no limit .... crazy all that talent and they still managed to fukk it up .....

i want bars nikka

not bamma shyt

Styles P alone >>> No Limit

wasn't nobody bumping that UHHHHHHHHH and Silk the Shocker bullshyt up north

Loved both labels but on sheer numbers alone this is not true in the slightest (number of artists, not sales). RR was very top heavy, No Limit simply had too many people to where even the lesser knowns were making good albums. You don’t have to go back to far to see people trashing Jada albums, Drag-On’s albums, Cassidy’s albums, LOX’s RR album, and not giving Eve her proper respect, so people can’t walk that back now to put them over No Limit.

Yeah exactly. But thing is when P was hot Suge was locked up so when did all that rah rah shyt he talking about even go down?

Suge was locked up and in court from late 1996 to 2001/02. nikkaz acting like Suge was out running the streets. He had his lackeys
running the label during it.

It's crazy to compare the Roc-a-fella situation with Ruff Ryders when comparing Jay and X. Damn near the same set up with three guys. One the rapper, one the manager/marketer, and one seemingly being the street dude and money man. Both blew off the initial artists success which then let them leverage that success into basically building a brand. I wonder if X was more reliable and not as heavy in the drugs if they would've made him part owner.

Even taking into consideration the side arguments going on in the No Limit Documentary thread, there is a whole thread on No Limit stories. That thread blew up before there was a documentary and that thread is bigger than this one and is still going without the pages of arguments.

Gene is wrong as you mentioned but his book will be entertaining since he was around the 50cent jarule beef briefly as 50cent security and did security for other folks and other detailed information. Gene has good intentions in my opinion. For me, it was from him he explained the start of bad boys and dispell some myths regarding that Biggie wanted to go to the party when that was not the case and during the choke no joke interview lil cease got on Instagram to acknowledge that Gene did warn him.

Outside the personal attacks both him and Reggie has made statements that I have doubts not cause I think their lying but they believe it's true. Like Reggie beloved Stretch was killed by associates of deathrow or Pac that put hit on Stretch. Napoleon from Outlaws stated Stretch died over street shyt. Now the former hip hop cop Derrick stated the killer of jam master Jay also killed Stretch from a witness.

Maybe jean saw a Muslim looking dude that looks like Amir Muhammad or whatever but I personally believe the Greg kading story.

One thing that shake my head is how puff didn't have much security when clearly he had the means to do so. It's one thing he didn't bring Wolf or the request Wolf said he wanted and that could've been a liability from a business standpoint. Imagine if your boy gets in shootout and innocent people hurt and lawsuits that can be prevented. Man Pac and big Never got a chance to see fruits of their labor smh.

Right, but how did he brand himself being just a kid straight of high school(?) to that level? Obviously the bolded part is why.

He was given shots & oppurtunities based on that part right there. There's a reason why most RR albums produced
by Swizz sounds outdated (or wack to some) in production (ie. Opposite Of H20 etc).
You have to see it like this. Swizz don't play the background. He on videos ,he is out there. He has his vocal chants etc.. I'm talking after he started to blow up.

I'm no way comparing talent .Swizz got the golden key and favoritism from his family and he ran with it. Also his beats did make hits for various artists outside DMX and became an industry head mingling in that industry circle. Some producers are low key and play that background role and don't mingle with the masses and that's nothing wrong with that but Swizz put himself out there as a brand and hits songs whether he got game from the other producers that birthed him.

If his beats for big name folks weren't banging in the clubs and radio, he would be sidelined long time ago.

Dame Grease produce great music outside DMX but he a low key dude and I'm his big fan by the way.

I don’t think X is lying when he says they told him you’ll get part of the ruff ryders. When a group is on the come up and you’re the main talent, promises like that are usually made.
Good point but DMX drug habit makes a perfect excuse NOT to have him as partners especially in decision making in the boardroom. Don't know if they could've have him as a partner without having any say but I don't see that happening. However more bread perhaps? His Bloodline records was good concept but by then.......

Swizz breakout year was 98, in 98 he also had money cash hoes on hard knock life. How did that come about?

Was it originally a DMX beat that HOV happened to hear in the studio? I doubt Jay was hittin up swizz for a beat then.

I remembrr on the Jadakiss Genius interview he was asked bout which beat he wished he wouldve gotten and he said Jigga My nikka. He mentioned Jay had reached out to get some beats that sound like X. Dee and Waah sent him Swizz when Jay wanted Dame Grease. He called them and was like you sent the nephew. From there they knocked out joints Money,Cash..., and Jigga were some
