There doesnt need to be a Madden or Gears for a particular platform to exist. But when you are trying to convince people who are fans of those particular games to jump to a different platform there has to be a Gears or Madden equivalent. PC gaming exists because there is a market for PC games.
You say the people who are interested in this have been for years and we are asking who those people are.
I don't have a crystal ball. You keep asking me to quantify a group of people that doesn't even have access to the product yet.
I assume the same people interested in this, are the consoles gamers that sit on this board and ask about gaming PCs. Or PC gamers looking for a cheap upgrade. Or people on the fence about PC gaming in general.
And like I said, you're operating under the false assumption that Valve needs to convince console gamers to buy this. Valve in all likelihood doesn't give a fukk either way about console gamers. Like I said earlier, this is like asking if an independent rapper cares about the millions of fans Eminem or Taylor Swift has. Would the independent rapper like a few of those fans? Obviously. Are they going to go out of their way to reach them? No. Will it ultimately affect their success and career either way? No.
Fred.

might not equal k&m but the shyt going close the gap for sure
only on the arcadium is PC gaming (the most popular gaming platform) is less wanted/popular than consoles

PC is the only platform with real cash tournaments
