"I'm back... again." - Michael Jordan
Reports have been circulating all morning about the possible return of Michael Jordan to the NBA after more than a decade since his retirement from the Washington Wizards in 2003. We can now CONFIRM that MJ has been activated to the Charlotte Hornets roster; effective immediately.
Jordan had this to say at an impromptu press conference at the Hornets' practice facility:
"After more than a decade away from the game, I'm electing to end my retirement and resume my career as an NBA player."
When asked why he had arrived at this decision, especially so late in the season, Jordan said:
"I may be 52 years old, but I'm confident I can play against anyone, anywhere, at any time. And there's no way I'm going to just stand by while Kobe sits above me on the all-time scorers list."
With only a few games left in the season and hope for a playoff run dwindling, Jordan pledged to use these next few weeks to springboard towards a grander return next season where he guaranteed a championship run for Charlotte.
