RUSH was a great film

I don't know the first thing about F1 or even auto racing in general but this was a good film. We were going to see Gravity this weekend but got there a little late so ended up watching this instead. I had faith in Ron Howard anyway and he delivered.

Great story. Anyone who appreciates rivalries in sports and competition should enjoy this. Hemsworth was real good in this. Funny, arrogant... but he played the dramatic scenes well also. The dude from Basterds who played Niki Lauda was great too.

There was also a cameo from Lady Tyrell

The non-racing aspects of Lauda and Hunt's lives was pretty boring and almost pointless though. Very rushed.

I liked it quite a bit overall...

The non-racing aspects of Lauda and Hunt's lives was pretty boring and almost pointless though.

I think it helped show how Hunt was a playboy, talented but was more concerned with the fame and everything that comes with it. The party lifestyle. Lauda won more championships because he went the extra mile... racing was his life, period. I mean nikka got burnt up and came back six weeks later

This was a good movie. For some reason I always forget how good Ron Howard is at drama, probably because he has this unapologetic attitude for changing the facts to strengthen the drama (in the case of this movie, Hunt and Lauda were actually good friends of each other) which I strongly dislike. He always pulls it off though, as is the case here as well. Hemsworth was solid but too much channeling his Thor (the overstating arrogance) but Bruhl on the other hand was amazing as Lauda.

I too don't know anything about racing but real good movie. Heard the guy who played Lauda is in contention for Best Supporting Actor. He def should get it, way better than Jonah Hill.

It was a good all around film. Critics rated it rightfully so. Never heard anyone refer to it as best movie of all-time though, of 2014 though it's understandably a top 5.

This was also one of those films you could it was well directed. Like when Niki was in the hospital and putting the helmet back on, the way it was directed and how close it was to him and then we became his POV was sick.

I dont think it did big numbers in the box office but I remember the poster was just a picture of James hunt. Had it been a pic of both characters and something bitter included, I think it would make a big difference
