The team was shorthanded as is with Russ being a vital piece all year and in the post season up to that point and was still putting the clamps on Shai while injured.

i’m sorry, are we really letting Russell Westbrook be the barometer for how good of a teammate another superstar is?
Nothing against Westbrook, mind you, but the dude is known for having a short fuse and he does not tolerate any sort of perceived “divaness” from his teammates. it’s the same dude who would bark on Kevin Durant for not moving whenever the ball was not in his hands in OKC, would yell at the Houston Rockets staff whenever they delayed film sessions for James Harden (his friend mind you) and will yell and taunt opposing players when he makes the most simple of plays out of pure competitive spirit.
it wouldn’t surprise me that he would take umbrage at being in a LeBron lead locker room, but I don’t think that’s a major indictment against LeBron.

Russ was a horrific basketball player for the Lakers. Even AD wanted him gone.
Whats worse was he never took accountability for his shyt play just went out there and did the same dumb shyt night after night
Where Bron deserves blame is trading for Russ in the first place. That was easily the dumbest play of his career.
Why would he want to play with a stubborn, ball dominant low iq player who couldnt shoot to save his life.
When has a player like that ever meshed with his game?
Add to the fact that Russ was a HOF player who only ever knew how to play one style and therefore could never modify his game
And of course it didn’t work out
And of course everyone was unhappy
