Makes anti-drone laser defense systems extremely important. Especially given that most countries with noteworthy air forces have planes sitting on bases. That used to be safe. Not anymore. Granted we are talking about a brazenly incompetent state of Russia, which isn't the case in the US/China/France/etc militarily. But it's still something you HAVE to prepare for.

They weren’t on the battlefield. This was an intelligence problem imo. There was no real way of stopping that kind of attack unless you had stopped it before it happened or knew before it happened.
They were arrogantly sleeping.
What I think is, Ukraine wasn’t doing just one op. With the way Zelensky sounded, there could be more in a variety of ways. And notice, didn’t have to kill a single soldier or civilian… yet.
The Trojan horse worked not because of the weapons they used, but because they got behind enemy lines to use them.
