Putin took Crimea along with other territory in eastern Ukraine. Now Russia is in Syria with an advanced surface-to-air missile system capable of downing any American aircraft which is going to put America in an arms race.

Im pretty sure it was the USSR at the end of the day that took the L for humanity breh. It was Kruschev that capitulated in the face of the blockade, it was a factor that lead to him losing power, Fidel Castro was pissed at the Soviets for leaving, it changed the Soviets whole attitude and behavior during the Cold war that lead to more efforts for nuclear parity etc...
