It won't. In fact, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, and Iran are meeting right now in Moscow. Putin and Erdogan talked immediately after the incident.

The assassination on Russian Ambassador probably more likely to bolster Moscow and Ankara's burgeoning alliance. They've re-opened and improved ties with trade, the Turkish stream gas project, nuclear power plants... Syria is their only real divergence but they've compartmentalized that.

The Russians are a major trade partner and the sanctions earlier this year in response to the November '15 jet attack devastated large sectors of the Turkish economy. Turkey depends on Iranian and Russian oil and gas for energy. It gets cheap oil and gas from them and they cannot afford Qatari or American LNG imports.

If they cut off the gas, the Turkish economy goes straight to hell.

Putin basically understands this even though domestic Russian views of Turkey have become negative(and vice versa). Russia removed the sanctions, and is pumping money into Turkey to keep it afloat.

China and Russia hardly do anything major alone anymore, there are large Chinese funds available for Turkey. They want to keep Turkey alive for the future. If they can wean the Turkish economy off the hot money from foreign investors, supply them with cheap oil, build the nuclear plants as agreed then Turkey might in the future be strong enough to become an independent country with better balance of payments and be part of that Eurasian New Silk Road project.

Yep - he went on this crazy attack on me about "asylum for all" on a thread that was about a freaking police officer and had nothing to do with refugees. I don't even know what the hell he's referring to so far as my supposed "asylum for all" stance goes - pretty sure he made up my position on asylum for refugees in his own head. Then he brings in the Germany truck attack on a stretch and says that a refugee did it, turns out the guy who did it is a lifelong crook and drug dealer recently out of prison for arson who was denied asylum but it got screwed up because Tunisia didn't want him so bad they claimed he wasn't even from there.

And he throws in this "religion of peace" bullshyt....where the hell does he get that I said anything like that ever?


This lame just says whatever he wants about Muslims, whenever he can, and blames it straight on religion without any context (like the fact that this act was clearly tied to Russia's actions in the Syrian War and Aleppo). Then because I call him out on taking things out of context, or distorting history left and right, or stereotyping entire groups of billion plus people, he attacks me as if I'm a Muslim myself...when I ain't Muslim and have plenty of my own problems with the religion.

And if something happens in the other direction (like over 1000 Muslims getting killed by Hindus in government-sponsored mob violence), he makes up every excuse he can for it while caping for the exact ideology that's promoting the violence. Hell, he even capes for the guys who radicalized Gandhi's assassin while shytting on Gandhi (for the mere fact that Gandhi, unlike him, doesn't hate Muslims). If someone wants to talk shyt about an entire people group, they can always find shyt to talk about. In the news there were just reports of 600 people being tortured in Indian prisons, a girl who died after her village banished her outdoors until she finished menstruating, guys getting murdered by mobs for the mere rumor that they had eaten beef, village elders decreeing gang rape as an official punishment on teenage girls who were seen with the wrong guy....but no one brings that stuff up in order to hate on an entire people group, even if there are some ways in which the ideology of the people can be attached to the act.

He's caught a bug from his favored people and wants to make everything an "us vs. them" shyt. That's why he shyts on all Arabs, Muslims, Israel, Black people/thecoli, Cuban-Americans, Christians, etc. He can't see people as individuals - everything has to be some sort of stereotyped group responsibility.
