Where's the proof? From the very article it says the story isn't verified. Excuse me for not believe every story that's thrown out into the ether. A claim is made and the claimant should provide said evidence and not hearsay. That's what I abide by and not emotional appeals. If the proof is provided, I change my mind, admit I was wrong, give a dap, and keep it moving. I'm not the type to believe something because someone said so. Obviously you can't, because "Ukraine the state" is anti-Nazi, they just failed to root it out of one particular division so they turned them into cannon fodder on the front lines instead.

If you really hate nazis with a burning fukking passion, then you should look up the Wagner Group which is a squad of neo-nazi led mercenaries personally directed by Putin. Or look up The Base, which is a wannabe neo-nazi terrorist group who Putin lets base itself in Russia while it tries to overthrown the US, Canadian, and Australian governments.

The far-right, nazi-sympathizing faction in Ukraine is literally the polar opposite of the government in power right now. In the 2019 election Zelensky's equality-pushing, anti-nationalist "Servant of the People" party won 71% of the vote, the right-wing nationalists won 23%, and the far-right nazis won 2% (which means they got 0 seats in government). Zelensky's government knew about the nazis and tried to eliminate them, but there was serious military strife and even a shooting battle at one point between the army and the extremist squad (some news reports said 4 people died but it's unconfirmed). In the end the fact that there was literally a war going on with Russia in the eastern provinces meant there just wasn't space to deal with the internal shyt, so he sent the squad into war in the hopes that attrition would deal with them over time.

Literally my first comment in this thread was mocking people on both extremes. And I've pointed out the both-sides propaganda numerous times:

There's a massive amount of propaganda emanating from both sides and anyone who is automatically believing/posting shyt just because they saw it on social media or just because the Russian/Ukrainian governments said so is an idiot.

The propaganda has been really bad on both sides and too many folk running in here and repeating it without any verification.

Even the Chechen dude, I don't know if he's alive or dead because the sources on both sides have been equally unreliable.

It's war. Both sides are putting out a ton of bullshyt and both sides have shyt going on that's difficult to verify. If you see anyone in here immediately promoting social media as if it's reality without any verification, you can know they're either naive as fukk or a full clown.

What's been posted in this thread includes a LOT of misinformation, on both sides. Print media has been pretty good with the war coverage but you gotta get completely away from social media and cable news. And even the print media doesn't know what's going on half the time because it ain't like either Ukraine or Russia is giving anyone legit info if they can avoid it.

No different from every war ever. Before social media all the propaganda was on broadcast television, before that they showed the films in the movie theater, before that they used to pass out leaflets. Every single war has heavy propaganda effort from both sides and this is just the current medium.

The stupid fukking thing is so many people in this thread just immediately regurgitating whatever propaganda narrative they see on social media without even doing the basic due diligence to understand if it's true or not or what the background is. They're literally pawns, and this thread is full of them (on both sides).

But there's a world of difference from saying something can't be verified and shouldn't be immediately believed, which is what I did, and immediately saying something is ducktales without any evidence, which is what you did.
