I have no dog in the fight between Slavs, but this is the main reason I hope Russia collapses soon and brutally as possible. Putin has his own PMC, the Wagner Group in Mali, Mozambique, CAR and the Sudan. Any time he wants to cause problems in Europe he can essentially kick start a refugee crisis on a whim. Sudan is the 3rd highest gold producer in Africa. It's right in the article.They're also not "financing the war" with the gold. They're using it to stave off sanctions.

It’s as simple as-we’re trying to apply enough economic pressure to spur regime change or complete capitulation in Russia. Russia cannot get gold or engage with almost all developed economies of the world. Sudan lacks the infrastructure to extract these resources efficiently along with weird power dynamics. Russians extract gold and take it back to Russia and help arm Sudan with their cheap but effective weapons systems but more importantly, training. This will lead to a more stable Sudan (darfur) than the one we made fake humanitarian aid campaigns for in the 2000’s.



It certainly isn’t a fair exchange but does extend benefits to Sudan that they wouldn’t otherwise have plus it undermines the global american capitalist order which needs to be any Black revolutionary’s #1 goal at all times.

It really depends who you talk to. Some young Sudanese are leaving behind Arab chauvinism. I know because I used to interact with quite a few. I even know one who hates Arabs and boasts of her Nubian heritage.
