I think the internet is just tired of this “you’re not a player shyt” cause most of the wack analysts are former players. And so are non-athlete journalists.

It’s like analysts of other things. Some of the best analysts of companies are people who never worked in such companies. They just read a lot about them, and talk to people. It becomes a problem when you’re a player who doesn’t talk to a wide and diverse group of athletes, FO people etc. Who doesn’t read everything about the players. But just rely on “I was an athlete, so I know”. Thats when you get these trash as analysts dudes.
It’s cuz most the sports internet are bytch ass nikkas like @Gil Scott-Heroin so it hurt they heart when nikkas remind em they just some fans with fan knowledge

Saying thats the non player in you isnt even disrespectful btw. Its just saying the non player is the reason you dont understand some things go beyond stats/surface level shyt. Doesnt mean the non player portion of Schraeger doesnt have any credibility on other matters. Personally i wouldve told Schraeger to take it how he wanna take it:camby:
When you make it about what someone is lacking instead of how you might see things differently having played in the league you're going to get pushback.

I think it's cause they don't care about what people say based on their former occupation but their current one. I.e. they see being an athlete does not necessarily make you a great analyst. It ranges from the worst takes (see disgruntled old heads) to great takes only an athlete could provide.

Just like coaching (or gm's for that matter). Some great players were ass, some bench warmers became great, some who never played became great etc.
