“they’re equipped to do this job, in many ways, better than us. They’re infinitely more complex than we are. Stronger and sharper. So, you know, we’re going to get better movies [if we have more female filmmakers]”

yeah he a feminist man

love his work but whats the point of saying this

he could have said we need more women filmmakers but why say this? :comeon:

He is better at just doing movies and keeping his mouth closed

The more he talks the more:camby: I get tired of him talking
He’s actually hard to listen to, too. I love what he says but his voice sounds mushed.
Now to the OP, I hate pandering. Nothing is impeding women from being filmmakers.

I need the full quote, not this one sentence out of context. Also him saying "in many way" could be him saying there are things women can convey in filmmaking like romance or certain emotional things. He could also have said men do action better. But we don't know because it's one sentence of an entire interview.

If you couldn't tell what type of time he was on after the first black panther then I don't know what to tell you.

Edit: He could have just said "we need more women directors, they're just as good as men and should get the same work"

Why make it a competition where you say one is better ?

Who cares :unimpressed:

Some of you dudes are so damn weak and get offended by the stupidest shyt
This.

I read his comment and didn't think anything of it in terms of being a slight at male filmmakers.

There are a lot of dudes, surprisingly past 35, on here that are ticked off by the thought that a woman could possibly be better than a man at something.

Generally speaking, everything or anyone that speaks positively of women and highlights them in certain fields of work isn't some attack on your manhood, dawg. It's not that deep.

Then just compliment women on their merits without making them out as superior to men.

Same as with anyone paying men a compliment. No need to diss women to bolster your argument for masculinity.

If I say, in a complimentary tone, that White people seem to have a natural adaptation to dealing with cold weather, I don't have to bring up the fact that other races don't do as well with colder climates. At that point I'm just pandering for pats on the head and my share of buttered biscuits.

It's possible to prop up without pushing others down.

Coogler didn't do that. Then again what else should I expect from some fakkit bowtie wearing #NewBlack? Just from that pretentious a$$ pic attatched to the tweet he looks exhausting for a normal guy to be around. :unimpressed:
