:francis:This is so fukked up. I'm a big soccer/football supporter and do follow Brazil Serie A and all the Cupa tournaments where teams all over South America play each other similar to the Champions League.

Chapecoense were on a super run 1 on specific tournament, they didnt challange for the league this year ( Palemries won it) but they were solid this season and were on a dream run outside of Brazil. It was a great story considering that Chapecoense were playing in the lower league of Brazil football a couple years ago (sort of like D league to NBA)

Chapecoense lost some great players, a few played for Brazil national team. I was a big fan of Bruno Rangel , he's old now and didn't start, but a few seasons ago he lead the lower league in goals and was a beast as a lone striker. It's wild how quickly life can change. 76 people confirmed dead.

Sadly, here is the lineup. The players in grey are gone, the 1s with the heart are still alive, except Danilo

RIP: Bruno Rangel:

RIP Danilo:

"The first thing is to concentrate on securing the area and recovering the bodies"

They were suppose to play Atheltico National of Colombia in the 1st leg (they are having a dream season too, and have won every trophy they played for this season, domestic and international) but National want to forfit this trophy to Chapecoense instead.

RIP Danilo:

Chapecoense keeper Danilo Padilha made call to wife moments before his death

A Brazilian footballer pulled alive from the Colombian air disaster made a final call to his wife from hospital just minutes before dying from his injuries.

Chapecoense goalkeeper Danilo Padilha was one of just seven survivors found in the wreckage of the jet.

The 31-year-old spoke to his heartbroken wife by phone while receiving treatment in hospital – but died from his injuries shortly after.

He had posted a picture just weeks ago next to his partner describing her as “my love”.

Just like the Rugby team from that movie Alive and the Marshall football team. RIP, my nephew was showing me footage of them celebrating a win, and now they gone.
