Saigon and Tru Life were the only NYC rappers who spoke out against the LA Gang culture in NYC

No because bloods basically destroyed the latin kings. Without bloods being made im pretty sure they would be alive today. The majority of bloods/crips are still very much black.

Breh i never said it was a good thing. I said it was a good reason. Now imo all these angry disorganized black gangs can be used for good like farakkhan said. Now you might think im bugging but look at the italians breh, with that mafia shyt. Flipping the illegal to legal n putting it back in they community. All that gentrification in harlem might not be happening now if some of those black drug dealers in the 80's brought some property.

edit: YB'z n yg'z starting popping around the time i left NYC . But are they running the show now? no, all there og's are bloods/crips. Most of them are kids. And when they go to a real prison they drop that yb'z/yg'z for blood/crip.

OK bet....I hear u.......As for drug dealers buying property, I've heard too many stories of cats getting caught up from their illegal trade and having their properties either confiscated or if the deeds were placed in other peoples names an investigation would uncover it and the property would still be confiscated......There are too many stories out there of dudes trying to clean up their money having their past take it all away from them.

Aye bruh can u post the cnn tracks and the interview where jim jones lewve the station? shyt sound interesting.

And for everybody that think b&c was the 1st gangs or even most sickest gangs need to peep this jewel. I got a new respect for ny nihttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuyC5oqf0xIkkas yall been with the shyt Heavy

The interview I'm refering to was Street soilders on Hot 97......and it was just a moment thing......This was 2004 when taping things on the radio was for real exclusives......I just so happen to be listening to the radio and that particular show didnt move me enough to tape it.....I doubt that it would ever surface but going off the head I remember not really knowing Saigon like that but I knew Jim Jones....Jim Jones was going in about how he do what the hood do and thats why he is Blood and Sai responded with "thats the problem...to many followers" or something to that like....Then he went in talking abou" where is your power when the police tell u to get off the block ya'll do it?" He went in about how when u are on parole u are forced to figure out how to move without carrying a gun so thats the page we need to get on without being on parole. He also debuted the song Color Purple on that shoe.

As for CNN .....The War Report had lil hints hear and there but Nore straight up said he was slime on The Reunion album...This was the year 2000 and that term slime was pretty new and in my neck of the woods it refered to being a Blood. When he said "slime" it confirmed the hints that I heard on War Report.

Brooklynnn!!!
You do know the blood shyt comes from the jails, right?

Only the Gods could combat that whole movement from within the system but they lost the fight in the late 90‘s, maybe earlier, I dunno.

The death of the 5% movement is what changed Ny imo.

The best explaination I've seen so far that breaksdown how the popularity of Bloods came about not just in NY but also the United States was broken down by Curtis Sc00n.....Mind you I said the same thing years ago and SuperNova Slom pretty much said the same thing.....I'm gonna give you the exact quote from Curtis Sc00n:

Drug and gang culture has been a key marketing tool for rap since the success of NWA. Drug culture was the East Coast response to gang rap. In NY street gangs fighting over turf was played out since the 70's. We had graduated to more lucrative activities. The popularity and success of NWA created a shift in the direction of hip hop and the pendulum swung. That set the stage for more like them. In NY the rappers were lost. We didn't have gangs but we had drug crews that were in all honesty more sophisticated and violent. The NY rappers started their version of "reality" rap. Some merged the two. Next thing you know Bloods are everywhere hip hop is. There's only one reason Bloods are a minority in LA and a majority everywhere else. Hip Hop via Deathrow and Tupac's popularity. None of these people will ever state the obvious so I question their intent. How can you fix a problem is you won't acknowledge it? They're so afraid to speak the truth because they don't want to be pitted against each other or worse, they don't wanna miss out on a check.

Always seemed crazy that Bloods out numbered Crips in every place except the city they originated from

If you remember in the late 90s, early 2000s, everyone was perpetuating the image they was Crip in the mainstream. Everyone was C-walking, wearing blue flags (Snoop, Hov (Jay only wore the flags and said shyt like "Brooklyn is Loccin' with me" cause at the time, Brooklyn was heavily a Crip borough), Eastsiders, Xzibit, Jeezy etc...)

Then Diplomats came, and you saw a slight shift. then when Wayne came out heavy on that Blood shyt, it all switched.
