ehhh i don't think his storyline was helping ratings just taking up time, they probably told him either to 'spice it up' or he was getting dropped. They don't really pay that much from what little i know, they more give an bit of cash and the possibility that the attention could spark something else. I dont think siagon will ever blow but it did get him a little bit of attention and i think he managed to get resigned from the buzz. strangely as i thought it was a dumb ass move, i think it paid off for him...
