There's no consequences in the NFL either. Kaep might get cut but that's partly due to the 49ers not liking him and his performance on the field but imagine Cam or sassy Odell Beckham taking this stance, nothing would happen other than their brand hurting but that would happen in the NBA as well.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr called Kaepernick "a great guy" with whom he's had a good relationship and exchanged texts and phone calls with over the offseason. While supporting his right to do as he pleases, Carr said he will always stand during the anthem.
