Because it makes no sense for Presti to capitalize now and get a star with those picks since the team is nowhere near contention. We also have witnessed Presti willing and making deals unlike Ainge who pump faked every year

Celtics had pieces where they were contenders in the East that they could have used those draft assets to acquire a player(s) to help get them over the hump.

That's the only part of that sentence that matters. You can't fault the GM when the owner isn't willing to pay. Nothing you can do in that situation.

This is not a similar situation to Boston at all. The Celtics have been in contention multiple times with a team ready to take the next step, and nothing has happened. Not to mention that they are willing to spend money.
The Thunder have not really been in contention recently, and when your teams owner is not willing to spend money, there is only so much you can do.

What everyone is saying is cool and all, but at some point they’re gonna have to consolidate those picks. Teams are going to try and exploit them for even the basic trade knowing they’re sitting on a warchest of picks.
I also wouldn’t necessarily call them a rebuilding team as they could have made a run at the play-in tournament this season before they pulled the tank job.
