There are literally crashes for decades that never made the news. They mostly involve small planes and pilots with limited flight time

The NTSB isn’t a political wing of the government, just the same as the FAA. They report facts of crashes dumbass

The major headline was regarding EWR (Newark) where a reporter talked to a controller and that’s what they apparently said. I think the “most unsafe” situation is the EWR airspace, but I don’t think it’s one that extends beyond that. It’s got issues for very specific reasons (equipment that was moved from Long Island and they are trying to essentially “mirror” them to a Philly TRACON).

ATC has issues. Most of them are fixable with more $$, the government just refuses to put the resources behind it.

The commercial airliner midair was an aberration and was caused almost solely by pilot error by the helicopter

People get their planes stuck in trees, all kinds of weird stuff. No one cares.

Newark is my local airport. They’ve said they’ll reduce the number of flights in and out through September. Would you recommend flying out of Philly, JFK or LaGuardia instead. I travel a fair amount for work and this situation is tricky. Appreciate your thoughts.

They did the right thing by reducing the flights in and out of Newark.

That was really the big issue and why people were saying it’s “unsafe” adding in the equipment and staffing issues

As long as they keep with the reduced flights, I’d fly out of there
