OJ did it in 14 games before dikkerson broke it. Plus Barkley has less carries than dikkerson

Yeah, I don't think the validity of the record had anything to do with the decision. ED needed two more games than OJ, and Saquon would've done it in less carries than ED.

It's about the Eagles having a legit shot at the Super Bowl and not wanting to risk a starting OL getting their leg rolled up under or Saquon getting twisted in a pile and tearing something. Especially when the Giants are gonna go all out to deny those 101 yards, even if it means losing by 50.
