All my late 90s/early 00s brehs remember that name. In his time Fred Taylor was arguably the most talented RB in the NFL. He was big (6'1" 230lbs), fast (4.3 speed), and elusive (just watch the video below). This is the only RB in NFL history I can think of that is close to matching Saquon Barkley's combination of size, speed, and elusiveness. If Fred Taylor had stayed healthy for his entire career, he would've been a first ballot Hall of Famer.

You can't watch this video here and not see the parallels in skill between Barkley and Taylor:

you're a little bold with this statement.

Barkley is really really good, but we don't know about his size, speed, elusiveness vs NFL comp. yet.

You miss the combine? You never seen him play at Penn State?

Running back is the easiest position to judge when it comes to translating from college to the NFL because its all about instincts. Guys either have it or they don't. And its evident early.

You can't look at Saquon Barkley's physical profile and his college tape and see anything less than a generational talent.

He's basically the equivalent of Calvin Johnson at the RB position. He's bigger, faster, and more elusive than anyone we've ever seen. Closest guy to match his skill set is Fred Taylor. And even then I would say Barkley is still more talented.

Fred Taylor was a monster...

As a Steelers fan, I hated facing him cause he always just ran wild on us and that was when our defense was top tier.

If sequon can be Taylor-esque then whatever team gets him will be set at RB for awhile.

Similar size and speed but 2 completely different running styles

Fred was a jump cut artist who ran upright and actually played even faster than he timed. Homerun threat everytime he touched he ball.

Saquan is more like ladanian Tomlinson. Low to the ground, great balance, and shifty. Excellent out of the back field. Workhorse
