Sarah Silverman’s Hilarious Video for Bernie Sanders Is Going Viral

In a new viral video, Sarah Silverman jokes around in her signature style and urges non-voters to participate in this election, regardless of who they vote for (but they should vote Bernie Sanders).
The video, posted March 28, has already been shared over 40,000 times as of this writing. In just five minutes, Silverman makes a powerful case for why people who have become burned out with politics should cast their ballots for Bernie Sanders.
“It’s important that you treat your vote as something valuable, because it is. It’s so valuable,” Silverman said. “Candidates literally spend billions of dollars trying to get your vote.”
In the opening part of the video, Silverman acknowledges that before Sanders entered the race, she was a Hillary Clinton supporter.
“I’m a feminist. Democratic woman president? Yes please!” Silverman said.
However, the comedian and actor goes on to explain that she was voting for Clinton despite the fact that Clinton regularly accepts campaign contributions from corporations and banks, as it’s something all presidential hopefuls have to do to remain competitive.
“Every politician takes money from big money, ever since it was made legal through Citizens United,” Silverman said. “It’s legalized corruption. If all the other ball players are taking steroids, you have to take steroids too to compete, right?”
Then, Sarah Silverman pivoted and mentioned that she became a diehard Bernie Sanders supporter, as he refuses to take big money, opting instead to run a nationwide presidential campaign based solely on small-dollar support from millions of regular people based on securing fundamental economic rights for everyday citizens.
“This man is running for president on a platform that is just a giant fukk-you to the above-the-law billionaire class who have been controlling government policy with their money, and not paying a nickel in taxes through government loopholes they secure with said money,” Silverman said.
“Without taking a penny from Super PACs, corporations, or self-interest groups, Bernie Sanders raised over $100 million from over 5 million individual donations, donations from human people, averaging $27 each,” Silverman continues. “He proved that what is right can also be possible.”
“He’s proven that Citizens United is not a necessary evil. It’s just evil,” Silverman added.
She also refute the allegations that Sanders, a self-avowed democratic socialist would fundamentally destroy American capitalism. “Good lord, don’t worry! Under President Sanders, you can still become a super-rich a$$hole!” Silverman explained. “It’s just that your fellow citizens don’t have to feed their children cat food in order for you to do it.”
Sarah Silverman finishes with a powerful plea to non-voters to use their voice to reject the status quo.
“Don’t be sucked into a rigged American Dream ponzi scheme that was never intended to include you. Vote.”
