I didn't mention anything about mainstream press.

But...

How many wrestlers do Deadline, USA Today, Fox News, TMZ report on? And I'm sure there are more, those are just ones I've seen.

I'm not sure what kind of mainstream coverage you expect beyond that. Lead story on Sportscenter every night? A segment from Bill Maher? I mean what I listed above there is pretty big for anything wrestling related in 2022.

Pretty much.... but stooges are gonna be stooges. Weirdo cacs and Mexicacs on here. :mjlol:

Is it a big story though when 1. No one knows why she left and 2. Whether it's a work or not. The mainstream press is going to give WWE the benefit of a doubt as long as Sasha and Naomi keep quiet. If they really wanted to help their cause then they'd go public and force the companies hand by mentioning the contract structure and the sham that it is. WWE wouldn't want that to happen and would rather release them from their contract. The fact that they are silent about the situation when going public would help their cause speaks volumes.

I don't disagree with that but what you are saying here but that is a completely separate issue from whether or not the story gained mainstream traction, because it clearly did.

Whether or not they should say something to help their cause is a different argument. To me I don't think it matters, I don't really think an outlet like Deadline necessarily cares that much about this one way or the other besides just reporting on a story that they think will get views but beyond that, they don't really have any dog in the fight. Any wrestling fan who knows about this has already made their mind up about whether they support Sasha/Naomi or WWE in this.

My guess would be Sasha/Naomi are not talking because they have been advised by a lawyer not to talk and they probably have better legal advice due to her relationship w/ Snoop then most WWE wrestlers in a similar situation would have access to.

No doubt. Legal team gonna tell you stay off social media. That's not to say they are going to sue or try to get out of they contracts. it could be just so they can be sure to get their downside guarantees.

This story will have brand new life whenever Sasha and Naomi tells their truth. You know it’s heavy when WWE came out so hard to get ahead of the real story. Stay tuned
That’s the wild part about all this. The way Titan Sports is getting ahead of this story is something we’ve never seen. Like they KNOW they fukked up…

Wouldn’t even be surprised if they are getting their lawyers ready. Cause I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Sasha and/or Naomi have a sit down interview with Stephen A smith on ESPN and break down everything that happen.

Told yall long before this, them Samoans wasn't gonna ride for Naomi.

@The Amerikkkan Idol I told you this specifically. Naomi shouldve left YEARS ago.........."Bu bu but that's her family".

Look, I'm pro anybody generally leaving WWE.

I think they should've all walked out during the pandemic when I stopped watching the product :yeshrug:

But if I'm remembering correctly, I think you were saying she should go to Impact or something?

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think my argument was she was too old and makes too much money in WWE to start over somewhere else?

I still don't think she's gonna show up anywhere else for those reasons.

Her husband probably makes enough for the both of them at this point and has a pretty sweet gig in The Bloodline

I could see her going home and popping out kids like Sable did.
if they are "puppets" then why are they all on Sasha and Naomi's side? The only outlet not on they side is actually Wrestling Observer. But stooges don't want to post that because it would hurt the narrative that Observer is supposedly anti-WWE.

BTW-Alvarez has always been a fakkit.

Hell, even Jim Cornette was on their side and talked about how him and the Midnight Expressed did the same exact thing when they were going to bury their tag team. :yeshrug:

I think as long as the sisters stick together, they will come out of this more valuable.

Who says that he can't and still won't go back even after all this time? His story and wrestling career isn't done yet.

A lot of those ex-WWE dudes are going to end up right back at the company they complained about once it's all said and done. That's typically how it goes.

Not saying it's impossible, but when Punk says things like "I left professional wrestling 16 years ago, and 16 years ago, I'm back," it makes me think he's not going back any time soon.

You can tell he still doesn't fukk with WWE like that. He hasn't wavered in eight years, so at least he's consistent.

As I said earlier, it will probably be a while before we hear from either of them. Punk walked out in January 2014, and we heard radio silence from him until Thanksgiving of that year. He did a red-carpet thing for an award show (telling people he was never coming back to the E), appeared in a few pictures that were posted from his wedding day and some pics of him at hockey games, and he got on Twitter in July to thank the fans when the rumored day of his contract expiration hit (and he told his followers to take no shyt from no one.) Besides that? Nothing. And so much crazy shyt happened in between all of that too. It'll probably be a while before we hear from either Sasha or Naomi, so I guess just sit back and chill for a while. We'll definitely get Sasha's side of the story some time down the line. Naomi? Idk.

Corey Graves Had to Tone Down Vince McMahon's Message About Sasha Banks and Naomi

Sasha Banks and Naomi's walkout from the May 16 episode of Monday Night Raw sparked a number of responses from the WWE, including an indefinite suspension, stripping of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships and an official statement harshly criticizing the pair. It has also resulted in WWE's commentary team consistently bringing the pair up, with Corey Graves saying their decision was unprofessional while Michael Cole talked on SmackDown about how they had let the WWE Universe down. Graves received some flack for his comments, though many fans assumed he was merely parroting whatever Vince McMahon ordered him to say.

Jimmy Smith, Raw's play-by-play man, confirmed as much on Unlocking the Cage this week. He also noted that Graves actually toned down what McMahon initially wanted him to say.

"The superstars themselves are able to get their own story out and get their own narrative out in the public in ways they couldn't 20, 10, or 15 years ago. So what it feels like the WWE is doing, and I don't know, they haven't discussed it with me, is they're getting ahead of the ability of Sasha Banks and Naomi to put out their own narrative. If you don't say why, they'll say why. The WWE wants their perspective out there. They're going to go out and say something, so WWE wanted to get ahead of it and did it first. That's what it seems like to me," Smith said.

"What I don't get at all is the heat that my broadcast partner, Corey Graves, is getting," he added. "They gave him something to read and much like Michael Cole, he toned it down a little bit. But guys, Michael Cole and Corey Graves aren't making this stuff up. People are getting mad at them like they're freestyling this stuff. They're not. If Vince said, 'Here, read this', I would have done exactly what Michael Cole did. Corey Graves is getting all this s—. Corey Graves didn't make up that statement. He's a broadcaster and was told to read it and he read it. So I understand the ire of the fans, but the misdirection of that ire is weird."

As previously noted, Sasha Banks and Naomi were indefinitely suspended by WWE after walking out of RAW on May 16th 2022.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com stated that Sasha and Naomi have been indefinitely suspended without pay. According to people close to the situation, Sasha and Naomi’s merchandise being pulled was meant to send a message to the rest of the locker room.

Meltzer added that the company also has the right to freeze their contracts although it’s a different scenario from the past because other wrestlers were still being paid while their deals were frozen. Naomi reportedly has around two months left on her contract and could possibly seek legal representation to get out of the situation.

Meltzer also wrote the following in regards to how people reacted to the walkout…

“There is a lot of locker room conjecture and talk about Banks and Naomi, largely with Banks being portrayed negatively as Naomi supporting her friend but not being the catalyst of it. Even those who would normally not be pro-management were not anti-management in this case.”

:mjlol: apparently these nikkas have no plans for the womans tag toruny

I'll say this is how they quietly drop the women's tag championship for a while. They have yet to even muster a real team since establishing those belts. It's always "x and y," never a real team name with a legitimately shared gimmick. Shame really, those belts look pretty good.

Better put those belts on a milk carton with the caption MISSING and LAST SEEN. :francis: I guess this is also WWE giving a low key hit to Sasha since she was one of the female wrestlers that originally campaigned for Womens Tag Team belts. Now they're gone.

It has been fifteen days since Naomi and Sasha Banks took off before “WWE Monday Night Raw” hit the airwaves, and since then WWE has suspended the duo indefinitely, removed their merchandise from WWE Shop, and condemned them in a statement for no-showing an advertised match. And if one is thinking things could be smoothed over soon, a new report is here to throw cold water on that.

In a new report, Fightful Select has revealed that communication between WWE and Banks or Naomi’s camps has ranged from minuscule to nonexistent. They also noted that WWE has canceled any travel Banks or Naomi may have had in the future, another indication that WWE at least sees no resolution coming any time soon.

The report gets interesting however when discussing comments from Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer regarding Banks and Naomi being suspended without pay. Fightful noted they hadn’t confirmed whether that was true at this time but had been told by what was described as a WWE “higher up” that if the two were suspended without pay, it was unlikely their contracts would be frozen, as some had speculated may happen. Fightful then stated they were working to get confirmation on that factoid at this time.

If Naomi and Banks’ contracts aren’t frozen, it opens up the possibility that both could be free agents later this summer. Meltzer had previously reported that Naomi’s contract was set to expire within the next couple of months, and former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide later stated Banks’ deal was also up soon as well. It should be stressed that no confirmation has been given at this time that Banks and Naomi’s deals haven’t been frozen.

The report concluded by stating several within WWE originally didn’t want to strip Banks and Naomi of their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, but ultimately did so when it became apparent a solution couldn’t be reached, and that there’s no update on when a tournament to crown new champions could take place. It was noted by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio this morning that the Womens’ Tag Title tournament wasn’t mentioned at all on “WWE Monday Night Raw.”

Throughout these two weeks, both Banks and Naomi have remained silent, though Banks has been spotted in public and Naomi removed mentions of WWE from her Twitter. Meanwhile, WWE had another case of an advertised match not going on as planned last night, when Lacey Evans’ return match didn’t occur despite being promoted for a week. No statement was released regarding why the match didn’t take place.
