Saw "Superfly"...not bad.

I went ahead and saw "Superfly" at a matinee this afternoon. It was okay, especially if you're familiar with Atlanta. The movie was still okay though. It reminded a little of "Boys in the Hood", 27 years later. I'll stop here so I don't make this a spoiler.

Why Boyz n the Hood?

It was a pretty good movie though. Entertaining from start to finish. Solid acting all around and each scene was well done. I honestly have no complaints, but if I was forced to pick one:

The casting choice for the corrupt detective was a little cringy at first, but she did ok as the movie went on

I think the "Superfly" title set the bar high, which is why people were quick to shyt on the previews. It was a solid flick regardless.

It was entertaining. Saw it in ATL with my girl. The writing could have been better but the acting was good enough.
