She's triggered in that IG post.

Alot of multi-racial Haitian women are very insecure about their low percentage of African blood.

Its a sensitive subject and many of them are emotional about it.

The multi-racial men are more accepted depending on their knowledge of the culture.

But the women are very insecure because the darkskin African woman with 4c hair is seen as the standard.

Above the fray.

Good for her, for standing up for herself.

I didn't know that this was still a story, but I guess it caught steam because the pageant just occurred.

I thought that, like here, the story and faux outrage was just clowning. In fact, I laughed when I was tagged here.
Fact that she responded like that shows that it turned into something mean spirited. I'm somebody who consistently says that it bothers me when people want somebody to apologize for existing, for breathing air. This is who she is, this is what she looks like. If she has Haitian blood, she is Haitian.
If you're upset that she won a minor league beauty pageant and is representing the country, take it up with the organizers/judges, not her.

Hypocrites on social media who went after her, probably have posts applauding the last major title that Naomi Osaka won, and have stories up about the accomplishments
/contributions of Haitian-origin gens de couleur in Louisiana, and other parts of America. Many of whom had similar phenotype of this woman.

Above the fray.
Story has another funny turn.

When she said "Yes, I made it into the Top 10". Well, yes and no.

There was a final ten + wild card spots given to other contestants. She got one of the wild card spots

What the fukk kind of play-in game shyt is this?

That wildcard spot she earned was voted by the other contestants. So when she said "Yes, my sisters from 70+ countries stand by me", she was telling the truth. The backlash from social media probably caused the other contestants to rally around her.

yea, but that response could have been done without much of that smug :mjpls: stuff.

Good luck on her medical mission though. Especially if she actually talks to the people and finds them to be a bit similar to the ones giving her those critiques.
