Well the settlement is in.....

@darrenrovell: Former NCAA athletes who were used in video games will make between $74 & $6,400 from EA/NCAA settlements, depending on each case

:pacspit:

No more EA NCAA Football over a whopping $74.

its fukk Ed O' Bannon and the rest of those players

but like dude before in thread said. EA did it to themselves

they couldve gave us generic ass players and just authentic schools. but nope they decide to go full into make these players just like their real life counter parts. was fukking stupid looking back now especially since you got all these folks that edit rosters for fun. hell i never cared about having real rosters name. i played dynasties with auto generated names

Also 2k college hoops went away because of the price to make college games were too high and they wasnt selling all like that

EA/NCAA deserved this.

Making all that money off players while forbidding them from seeing a dime off it.

Sucks we lost as consumers, but anytime big corporations gotta suck it, it's a good thing.
This. I hated all the shyt some of the idiots were giving to O'Bannon. Maybe if the NCAA wasn't such a joke, we wouldn't be in this position.

Dude was just trying to get paid. How you gonna go to college, not be (legally) allowed to make money from your skill, meanwhile the school/conference/NCAA itself are all making tons off of you, THEN, you have a video game company making money off of you too? You telling me if you were in his position, you wouldn't be mad? Matter of fact, he deserves props for suing them. I'm sure other players had the thought, but not the guts to go through with it. He did.

2k College Hoops was one of my favorite games of all time. I would play that way more than NBA 2k. I was still Going to Operation Sports forums to get the rosters 2-3 years after they stopped making it:ahh:

So why doesn't EA just give all the athletes a free copy of the game?

So........

Has EA said they'll never produce another NCAA game? Out of their own mouths?

They need to work out a deal with the NCAA so players can get a cut of the profits. Put that money in a savings account until the player graduates or SOMETHING. The game was too popular to go to the grave.
