DISCLAIMER: It's a long read, so go ahead and head out now if that's not your speed. And I am not personally a Christian, but I do subscribe and adhere to the same book(different thread, let's not go there). All praises to the Most High forever and always, through thick and thin. But with that said....

Yes, I know it's still the number 1 religion in our community but it's far, far more leniency towards other ideological leanings today. That proverbial pie chart of the doctrine of the day is expanding by the decade . And tbh, we've paid for it.

But say what you will about the actual religion and it's teachings, but there is no denying that at the very least it was used as an universal measuring stick to hold alot of the degeneracy we allow to day accountable. There was an emphasis on the nuclear family, was an emphasis on order and not just acquiescing to your every whim, was an emphasis on community , an emphasis on uniformed spirituality and it's book outlines in black print on white pages what is wrong and what is right.
Whether you agree with that right or wrong is irrelevant, the bigger point is that (for the most part) we ALL did. And that's the heart of my interpretation regarding this subject.

THERE IS NO UNIFORMITY OF CONSTRUCTIVE CONSEQUENCE AMONGST US. Nothing changes without that, I don't care how much nikkas bytch and complain to and about the white man. Our issues always have and always will start on a spritual level(That's a whole other thread). And that's also why I chuckle when we go on and on about "black culture". It doesn't exist man.
I can't go to one black household and they ascribe to the Moorish Science Temple
And then the next, Islam
And the next, Wicca
And the one after, Vodun
And another and them nikkas don't believe in a god altogether lol....
....but then say we have a culture. Naw, I ain't trusting no nikka that prays to Cernunnos:mjlol:. It's too much derision on that front, the main front IMO.

I'll close with this ; if not for the crack epidemic, I do think this thread would be for naught. Because that subsequent removal of the man from his position as the head of a home has directly led to the debauchery we cosign today and the inception of the "it's their business, why should I care" laissez-faire banner we wear so proudly today.

Christianity teaches black people to be submissive to a system of oppression. They also subconsciously view white people as closer to God. When they think of God or Jesus I bet they picture a bearded white man. They’ll never admit it though.
Not that I disagree with any of that, but conversely, now that we've allegedly broke off those mental shackles....would you say our community is better off then it was in the 60s?

I 100% agree. People need a religion/philosophy to give them structure in life. Unfortunately, when people leave Christianity they usually don't immediately replace their system of values with anything else. It's usually the beginning of a process of self-discovery which is okay on an individual level but disastrous on a community level.

Intact families taught and showed values to children. In a good family, the house of worship just helped to reinforce what was already being promoted in the house.

People made conscious decision to turn their backs on core family values, and since then anything goes.
Right. But what was enforcing that tho is what I'm getting at
