even tho there were alot of off brand MCs responding out of nowhere....in the beginning it had me like :snoop:

but i started to realize that this is what it's about. you can say it was just for fun, but NY represented to the fullest and we let it be known that you can't fukk with us on some play play shyt. kendrick took a small shot in the dark and didn't really realize that our city is full of spittas. people can try to knock the credibility of them, but you can't knock the fact that collectively as a city we responded something serious with a vengeance. the east coast hasn't had the mainstream impact that we once did, but we are still home to the most talented MCs even though nobody wants to put us on right now. that's because we're lyrical beasts and all of that autotune super bass emo music would be put to the side if we had the reigns again. we may not be a corporate sponsored city when it comes to the industry but we're still the reference point for the skills at their highest level as an entire community.

we basically let it be known for anyone else that tries to play that shyt again that they will get this work. i highly doubt anyone will say anything close to what kendrick said ever again about NY. the crown still rests here and we have plenty of guards and soldiers to defend it if you think otherwise. you can't even say that about any other hip hop region on the planet.

:russ: @ nyc of all places trying to play the overlooked corporate underdog role...there's an industry plot to suppress the likes of joell ortiz, uncle murder, papoose, j-hood, et al...lest they takeover the game from acts the hiphop populace actually gives a fukk bout...in these digital internet driven days where locality means less than ever..an era where if you make music that people genuinely fukk with, all you have to do is make it available and people will go get it...lost in the all rhetoric about "competition" (which for whatever reason people seem only to be able to understand in the context of angry sounding rippity raps), is that we're in a time in rap where free market competition exists the most and that's the reason for the decline nyc rap more than anything...they no longer get the luxury of having a 5 stroke handicap by function of simply living in the media capital of the world and the default cultural base of hip hop and now have to compete on an even playing field with random dope boys in ATL and former child actors from canada

but good job, good effort :heh:

You get respect from hardcore fans...

I fukk with Pap and Joell's responses personally...

But your industry and corporate structure hate your local artists for some reason..It's a complete 180 from the way things were in the mid 90's... Maybe its karma...But there is nothing less "cool" than being a NY rapper in 2013..

I thought I would never feel this way, but I generally feel sorry for them n1ggas..They have a skill set that is totally worthless in the current climate..

NY hip hop is in a good place 2. Y'all got a lot of young diverse talent, I think once y'all learn to let go of the glory days and fully embrace y'all new generation they will shine.

I think philly has the best spitters since like 07 but ye even NY at it's worst still has a gang of mc's. You can make fun of Joelz Ortiz & Jr writer and them but atleast you know their names, i can't name any z-listers from l.a, atl, chicago etc, much less z-listers with skills. ATL's equivalent to JR is who...Jody Breezy?

I wonder why y'all don't support y'all new artist, it's no way ny nikka should be talking about Atlanta music more than they own artist. Like its not about a certain sound or nothing, we get behind our artist that's why they do good. I don't see nikkas bigging up ASAP on here 2 much or Joey badass, flat bush zombies etc... Y'all still holding on for dear life to nas and jay. U see how Cali nikkas was stuck on that one sound for so long and then they finally started embracing their new artist and then there u have it u get somebody like a Kendrick lamar. Ny's next savior is probably is in ny getting slept on right now

I feel like NY still don't instill fear into rappers like it used to. Somebody could claim KONY (not from ny) again and his career won't suffer. If ny gets back on that "unity-don't fukk wit us" mentality again then they have a chance at the reign again but till then.......

And to be honest all those responses together wasn't worth somebody who's focused on the south & west to break their necks just to tune in back to ny. It showed ny wasn't dead but thats bout it.
