Just watched Senna and that documentary was :wow::wow::wow: For those of you into F1, is he like the Michael Jordan of race car driving ? It seems he did stuff that no one ever did.

Is F1 that exciting? I mean the races are long and sometimes it makes no sense, but school me, I am open to learning :lupe:

Also there is a black guy who looks like he is kicking ass, whats his story and did he get the racist treatment ?

Schumacher is the Jordan of F1 but Senna was a lot less robotic and fluid. Dude was genius behind the wheel.

Lewis Hamilton is the black dude and yes he has encountered some racist treatment.

So when you say Senna was fluid, what do you mean? Cause aren't you driving a car and just pressing gas, or he would go into corners not braking or what? They kept repeating that his driving style was awesome

I don't know how to explain it. Every driver has a different style. I'm a pretty herky jerky driver on the track, some people drive with very smooth inputs, some people drive violently.

There's some articles comparing how they drove. I always watch Schumacher and in his prime it was like watching a computer drive a racecar. Like he knew how to react to any situation through a program or something. From what I know about Senna, dude was constantly driving on the edge just going by the seat of his pants.

From 5:55 it really explains it. Senna was a mad man and the cars he drove didn't have all the mechanisms in place to keep drivers in check.

I was going to use an Eddie Merckx vs. Lance Armstrong (ignoring doping) analogy but I don't think too many people follow on here are familiar with cycling.

From the documentary I also got the sense that every race Senna started he set out to win at all costs when it is common to find race car drivers who play the points game. For example they may be content finishing in third without pushing the envelope because they know they will still lead the points total at the end of the race.
