Like who is he to the game? And what did he do that gained him such a high level of respect. Was he bigger than e40? What's his best work?

Was he really some legendary Bay Area rapper. Or just a old school Chinx drugz, Slim Dunkin level artist whose allure raised once they passed.

Back in the day on the east side of the Yay Area, in Vallejo (V Town) 40 had the Hillside and Mac Dre had the Crest side...Two of the biggest rival neighborhoods in town that had serious funk for generations but gave birth to some serious music from ConFunkShun to Sly Stone

Those other names you mentioned can't be put in the same sentence as Mac Dre

Mac Dre's catalog spans over 15 years, he was more prolific than a major label artist and innovative enough to be responsible for his own movements. Not only is he one of the few artists in ALL of hip-hop he are deserving of a double disc best of album . . but he's probably one of the only artist who has a catalog worthy of pulling off a multi-volume best of collection

He blew up with the song California Livin.

He went to Jail and recorded a album over the phone.

He got out and started the Hyphy/Thizz movement.

He got killed in KC.

The End.
